In front of the schist fireplace is the area where guests gather each evening to meet and compare notes, enjoy a complimentary drink and nibbles, savour New Zealand wines or just chat before going to a Maori cultural show or to one of the 100 restaurants within 9km of Nicara Lodge. The bar works on an honesty basis at other times so just make yourself at home.
The home theatre room captures the afternoon sun. It is a very peaceful room with some magnificent elevated views over Lake Rotorua. Here is the guest computer to download your emails in case you did not bring your own laptop or smart phone. There is a Roland piano, selection of games and a very wide choice of DVDs to fill in any spare time.
Finally there is the Lakeside dining room which opens out onto a huge deck. Breakfast may well be served al fresco, weather permitting.
