5 Star Breakfasts Beautifully Prepared and Presented

Any Bed and Breakfast Lodge places great emphasis on that first meal of the day - breakfast. We pride ourselves on how our boutique breakfasts are prepared and presented, setting you up for your day in Rotorua.

Breakfast is served in the dining room or al fresco on the outside deck, however, weather will dictate the location. The time from 8.00 is to suit you and your sightseeing or travel schedule. We do however like you to be seated by 9.30 am at the latest.

The breakfast menu changes daily, but there is always plenty of freshly brewed coffee or a selection of teas. Milk or lemon, sugar or Equal, the choice is always yours.

Eggs Benedict, French Toast, Scrambled Eggs & Salmon

Croissants or hot bread will be served with fresh fruit or a compôte of fruit depending on the season. This can be combined with your choice of cereals, including homemade muesli, and yoghurt. Then the dish of the day may be scrambled eggs served with fresh salmon, eggs Benedict, mushroom crépe or French toast.

If you have been fishing and successful then pan fried trout served with capers is magnificent. You should be aware that while trout is a great delicacy in New Zealand it is not able to be sold in shops. Thus if you want to try our beautiful Rainbow or Brown trout you must catch it yourselves.

Tasty Evening Antipasto Platter

Although there are 100 restaurants within 10km of Nicara Lodge, many of our guests have indicated they would love a night 'at home' to enjoy the ambiance and lakeviews from the lodge. So, we offer a tasty Mediterranean style antipasto platter for two, made up of variety of cheeses, meats (or fish), hummus, pickles, olives and bread. You can complement this with a bottle of NZ wine.

Kiwi Style Evening BBQ

We offer a kiwi style BBQ when requested by 4 guests. A chance to enjoy the lodge facilities, views and relax over dinner. This may include lamb chops, butcher sausages, salads, garlic bread and traditional New Zealand dessert - pavlova. You don the apron & be the chef for the night.
